Joe comes to us from Bozeman, MT.  He is a graduate of Montana Bible College.  He served an internship for 18 months in Ketchikan, Alaska and has served in a number of other locations and positions before coming to OCC.  When asked about coming to Orofino, Joe states, “I could not be more encouraged and excited about God’s plans here at OCC”.  He adds he is “ . . .humbled by the opportunity God has given to me here at OCC to invest time in His Word and His people.  God has been teaching me to stop striving so hard to be a Christian and learn to just rest in Christ.  He is opening my eyes to the fact that being a Christian is not about being a better person, it is about being a broken person.  He has been showing me the subtle difference between ‘living my faith’ and ‘living IN faith’.  Through repetition He has slowly been getting the message through my thick head that ‘being comes before doing’.  I am so very thankful to Him for His word and His men He has put in my life to teach me”.

Leadership/Elder
Elder DAN WAYT

Dan, originally from Minnesota, was transplanted in the Clearwater region in the mid 60's.  He retired from the Camas Prairie Railroad and now devotes his time to being a husband, father to 5 children, grandpa to 10 grandchildren, and an elder at OCC.  Dan's ministry is in the discipleship/mentor/servant capacity.  Dan and his wife, Tami, both have a "hard knocks" testimony and have a passion for outreach to the elderly and youth of their community.  When not involved in "retired guy activities," Dan enjoys fishing, hunting, archery, and cooking.

 Elder CHRIS JENSEN

Chris and Karen migrated to Clearwater County in 2005 after they both retired from careers in law enforcement.  Time not spent in church is usually spent working on their small sheep ranch in the mountains  above Orofino.  Chris and Karen have five children and 9 grand children.  Chris takes pleasure in study and  research of GOD’s word and has a heart for all those who struggle finding their own way.  When not  exploring the Bible, he enjoys motorcycle riding, photography, camping and reading.  Chris and Karen lead the  Friday night CrossRoads ministry here at OCC.

 Elder MARCUS CHIN

Marcus and Anna-Kate moved from Seward, Alaska to Orofino in 2010 and immediately felt God leading them to OCC. Marcus works as a Silviculturist for the Forest Service and Anna-Kate is a full-time Mom. They enjoy the many outdoor recreation opportunities afforded by living in North Central Idaho and are grateful to live in an area that showcases the glory of the Creator. They desire to be used by God to grow people into deeper relationship with Him and they are excited about what they see Him doing at OCC.
